TPS 50th Anniversary Celebrations

 April 10th 2008 - Major Gold medal displays at the RPSL London

To mark the TPS Golden Jubilee, the RPSL asked us to invite Dr Prakob Chirakiti and the Philatelists Association of Thailand to display Gold Medal winning material of the utmost rarity at the premises of the Royal on Thursday 10th April 2008 starting at 1 p.m.  The fabulous 43 frame display takes material from the following collections: 

 April 12th 2008 - TPS meeting and Celebratory Lunch. London

A separate TPS meeting was booked for the following Saturday, April 12th, also at the premises of the Royal in London.  The full day's event included a high quality series of displays covering all aspects of Thai philately.  A celebratory lunch was held during the day where members' partners were invited to join.

November 7th 2009 - TPS AGM in London

The officers of the society were re-elected without change. This included confirming Jonathan Manning as Editor ofThe Thai Times. An important rule change was introduced - it is now possible, subject to the librarian's discretion, to lend library items to overseas members via courier or secure mail.

The meeting was followed by an excellent display of Bryan Dowler's early postcards. This had gained a large silver award in the recent Bangkok 2009 exhibition.

January 6th 2010 - TPS Postal Auction

The 2010 Society postal auction was a large auction with 884 lots including material from at least three important collections. A printed catalogue was sent to all members but can also be viewed here as a 4Mb pdf. Please note that only fully paid-up members of the society could bid in this auction. Additional lot illustrations can be viewed here as a 1.1Mb pdf.

February 27th 2010 - TPS London meeting

In association with Philatex, our meeting studied the Bangkok B issues with special reference to the new type reported by Andrew Norris. An article for The Thai Times will follow.

November 6th 2010 - TPS AGM in London

In association with Philatex, our meeting in room 31 is from 12.45 p.m. till 2.45 p.m.

February 26th 2011 - TPS London meeting

In association with Philatex, our meeting is from 3 p.m. till 5.30 p.m.

November 5th 2011 - TPS AGM in London

In association with Philatex, our meeting is from 12.45 p.m. till 2.45 p.m.
