Dennis W. Langford
Langford Cover

Dennis Langford worked in Thailand for many years, first in the teak industry, then as manager of a tapioca factory.  There are many covers addressed to him as he was very interested in postmarks.

He bought the collection of railway cancels obtained by Lyons, then added to it by writing to the postmasters of all the railway stations on all the lines in Thailand, requesting that they cancel and send him a cover that he supplied.

The above is an example of one of these self-addressed covers that he sent out.  It is postmarked Phrakanong with the 8-petal decoration of a railway station and dated 30.10.1 BE (30.10.1958 CE).  On the reverse is a receiving mark for Klang dated 1.11.2501 BE.
Klang Postmark
He produced a major article for The Thai Times during the 1970s covering the history of Bangkok postmarks, amongst many other contributions.
