| L. W. Zerner was
acknowledged by Linnemann as one of the foremost authorities on the
stamps of Thailand. Zerner possessed a remarkable collection of Thai
postal stationery himself. The cover above carries the 15 satang National Day second issue stamp, cancelled Bangkok GPO B on the first day of its issue, 28.5.1940 CE. It was sent to Zerner by the well-known dealer Paul P. Lindenberg of Bangkok. The second National Day stamps are the first to carry the name of the country in English as Thailand, rather than Siam. |
