| The
first experimental air mail flight was
made between Bangkok and Chandaburi on 17th February 1920. Mail was franked with special rectangular handstamps. The sending mark reads "By Air Way, Krung Thep, Date 17/11/2462, Time 8.30 hours" and the receiving mark "By Air Way, Chandaburi, Date 17/11/62, Time 13.26 hours". The flight took 1 hour 38 minutes compared with the 2 days it took by steamship. On the return journey on the 26th some mail and small packets of pepper were carried. |
