Marine Life

These stamps were only issued in this nine stamp sheetlet, depicting tropical reef life.  The coral reef is a marine eco-sysem in its own right, made up of a hard calcareous substance secreted by caertain marine coelenterates as an external skeleton often forming vast reefs.  Reefs are also the habitat of many varieties of fish, anemones, turtles, urchins and other sea creatures.  Today many are threatened with destruction by pollution, global warming and exploitation by man.
